2020 ARF VIRTUAL (un)CONFERENCE
Wednesday, December 9 - Thursday, December 10, 2020
Online - 5:00-8:00pm ET
Conference Theme: Literacy Teaching in Uncertain Times
Access to the (un)conference is included in annual membership!
Although we had to cancel the face-to-face conference this year in light of the pandemic, the board wanted to provide a venue for critical conversation around literacy and mentoring graduate students and early career faculty, especially during the uncertain times we find ourselves in today. Our intent was to stay true to the commitment to open communication and collaboration that ARF values with the select opportunities we have incorporated into the schedule. Access to conference resources is included with an annual membership. View the Virtual (un)Conference Program (sign-in required).

Considering that the American Reading Forum values the work and perspectives of a diverse array of stakeholders in the literacy field, we encourage practitioners, administrators, literacy coaches, researchers, and scholars to submit “lightning round” proposals that speak to the overall conference theme of Literacy Teaching in Uncertain Times including, but not limited to, the following sub-themes:
-
Trauma
-
K-5 Teaching & PD in Uncertain Times
-
Digital and Online Instruction
-
Recognizing Bias in Children’s Literature
-
Community Literacy & Access
-
Centering Antiracism in Literacy Teaching and Research
